Hi folks,

Now that we have had some time to rest after the 1.11 release we are working on migrating the Mixxx codebase to Git from Bazaar and changing our code hosting to GitHub. The main reason for this is that GitHub provides a much more accessible way for people to contribute code via pull requests. This also has a much more pleasant user interface for us to review your code contributions and give line-by-line comments. The end result is that Mixxx development goes much faster since we have an easy platform for discussing proposed changes to the code. The core developers have been testing this out for a few recent merges and it has resulted in much more productive and fast discussions.

We are still using Launchpad for bugs. We are only using GitHub for code hosting.

Sorry for the inconvenience. If you are currently tracking the latest code with Bazaar you will need to re-checkout the code from GitHub. This is fairly painless and we’ve written a tutorial on the Mixxx wiki: Using Git.

Experimental builds of Mixxx will still be available on the build server.

Happy mixing,
RJ
